So, I was cleaning up some of the DNS entries today, and Sav reminded me that Dinnerbone enabled SRV records for Minecraft, which allows for aliasing certain services and protocols from one domain to another port and domain. The practical application of which is that now you can type in either hardcore.hcsmp.com, or just hcsmp.com in Minecraft, and you'll be connected to the hardcore server. It also means that as we start to host additional events, we don't have to get crazy with the port numbers, and can set up a temporary session to run things in.

So yay for Dinnerbone enabling fancy networking capabilities, and yay for Sav for reminding me that he had done so! There's going to be a lot of updates for hcsmp coming up soon, so be sure to check in often, particularly once October rolls around!
